The Alignment Myth: Why Action Beats Feeling Ready

Waiting to feel aligned before you act is a trap. Here’s how to move forward without forcing, and still honor your intuition.

You've heard it a thousand times: 'Just get into alignment and everything will flow.' It sounds wise, but taken too literally, it becomes a sophisticated form of procrastination. I see clients wait for the perfect feeling—the unshakable knowing—before they send the email, raise the price, or share the work. That feeling rarely comes.

Alignment isn't a prerequisite to action; it's a byproduct of right action. The key is to distinguish between actions that drain you (hustle, force, obligation) and actions that are simply the next right step, even if it feels uncomfortable. You don't need to feel ready—you need to feel clear enough to take one step.

Try this: pick one thing you've been waiting to 'feel ready' for. Ask yourself: Is this action aligned with my values and long-term vision? If yes, take it today, imperfectly. Notice how the alignment deepens after you move, not before. The feeling follows the doing, not the other way around.
