How to Align Your Pricing with Your Values (Without Leaving Money on the Table)

Pricing is a spiritual practice. Here's how to set rates that feel good and reflect your worth.

One of the most common struggles I hear from clients is around pricing. 'I know I'm worth more, but I'm scared to charge it.' Or, 'I feel guilty charging for something I love doing.' Sound familiar?

Pricing is never just about numbers. It's about what you believe you deserve. It's about the story you're telling yourself about money, value, and your place in the world. If those stories are rooted in scarcity, no pricing strategy will feel right.

The first step is to get honest about your money stories. Where did they come from? Maybe a parent who struggled, or a past boss who underpaid you. Write them down. Then ask: Is this true? Often, the answer is no.

Next, calculate your baseline. What do you need to live comfortably? Add a margin for savings, growth, and fun. That's your floor. Then, factor in the transformation you provide. Not the hours you spend, but the outcome your client gets. A $2,000 coaching package that helps someone double their income is a bargain. Price for the value, not the time.

But here's the part most people skip: how does the price feel? If it makes your stomach clench, that's not a sign to lower it — it's a sign to work on your money mindset. Sit with the discomfort. Let it teach you. Over time, the number will start to feel like a natural expression of your worth.

Also, consider your audience. If you work with conscious creatives, they value alignment. They'd rather pay a premium to someone whose values match theirs than get a discount from someone who feels off. Don't be afraid to be the premium option. It attracts the right clients and repels the wrong ones.

Finally, revisit your pricing regularly. As you grow, your value grows. Raise your rates. Offer new tiers. Your business is a living thing — your pricing should reflect that.

Remember: money is just energy exchanged. When you price from a place of worthiness, the transaction feels clean, clear, and powerful for both parties. That's alignment.
